The specific purpose of this study is to examine the factors that affect the quantity and quality of water here in the UAE to limit the reasons behind water scarcity. Moreover, this study aims to determine the level of awareness regarding this issue which will help us understand the magnitude of this problem here in the country.
This project covers three main aspects: water resources, water consumption and causes of water scarcity. Due to the differences in water quantity, water quality, water consumption and population growth among the countries around the globe, our results might not be applicable outside the UAE. There are some factors that have not been covered in this study such as global warming, climate change and topography.
